Motherboard Mother of Your PC System
A motherboard is central PCB (Printed Circuit Board) in complex electronic systems, such as Personal Computers. The motherboard is known also as a Mobo main board or system board. On the motherboard your all systems component are installed on board or connected to board through cables. A desktop computer has its Processor, memory and other essential components on motherboard. Other components like external storage, controllers for video display and sound, and peripheral devices may be attached to motherboard as plug in cards or via cables. Modern motherboards come with some components installed on motherboard.
Important component of motherboard is microprocessor’s supporting chipset. Which are control interface between CPU (Central Processing Unit) and buses and external componets.Motherboards performance capabilities and features depend upon chipset.
Modern motherboards have some form factors like ATX, microATX, AT and others. In this the ATX is common for most motherboards. This is size of motherboards. Some older motherboards has baby at factor.
On the motherboard directly install devices is microprocessor connect via sockets. Old motherboards connect this with slots. After that Memory also connect to motherboards via slots. Peripherals connect via external ports and internal cables. Expansion cards connect via PCI Express bus, PCI bus, and AGP bus.
