But you need to save your work for use next time or editing. Your PC have two types of storage devices or systems one is RAM and other is Hard disk drive. RAM (random access memory) this type of memory is also called as temporary memory because it can store data till pc is on and unsaved file or data after shut down or restart PC all data gone from RAM. When you save the file it transfer from RAM to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) for permanent storage.
RAM come in different sizes like old PC’s have 8 MB,16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB.
But now a days PC’s have more capacity RAM like minimum 1GB , 2GB ,Upto 16 GB it depends upon motherboard features.

Next is HDD this is permanent storage means all data you save on HDD you access whenever you want. Old PC’s have 25 MB hard disk’s . But now a days PC’s HDD is growing so fast in Size. You new PC now have at least 160 GB HDD. There also different models available like 250 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB also you can use.
Hard disk have speed depend upon its rpm (rotation per minute) means its head rotate for read and write data. Its can see on Hard disk in written like this 7200rpm means head rotate 7200 times per minute.
If you want work fast for 3d modeling animation , video editing , or other heavy application you must have 10000rpm or 15000rpm Hard Disk’s for you PC.
Take decision carefully when buying RAM or Hard Disk for RAM you must know what is the speed and Hard Disk know the rpm of hard disk drive.
